Do you want to learn without limits about God? I’m praying this today, and you can pray this Scripture-based prayer with me.
Today’s post is the third one in the #write28days challenge, in which I’m participating during the month of February 2021. The prompt for today is “Learn,” and here is my prayer/poem.
Learn Without Limits About God
Father God,
Your ways will always be higher
than my ways
and your thoughts higher
than my thoughts.
Your paths are beyond tracing out.
Yet you invite me to learn without limits
in my human understanding
about you.
You invite me to know your ways
and teach me your paths.
In my midnight meetings with you
when I answer, “Here I am, Lord,”
You answer me, the great I AM
drawing near to your creation.
Oh, the thrill of pushing up
against my limit
of learning your ways
studying your character
pressing into your promises
glimpsing your future.
Like Moses, I long to see your face.
But when I say “Show me your glory,”
I am always happily overwhelmed
by whatever light is dimmed
through a veil.
I am only flesh and bone, a clay pot
shaped by your hands
yet the great Teacher
has become my Friend,
the Lord Most High
draws near to me.
I praise you, O Father
that I can learn without limits
about your beauty, grace and love
when I boldly enter the Most Holy Place
sprinkled by the blood of the Lamb
no longer shadowed by sin
but trusting you in full faith.
