Your Creativity Inspires Me is a prayer of praise that reminds me of God’s love. I hope this prayer-poem inspires you today.

Today’s post is the fourteenth one in the #write28days challenge, in which I’m participating during the month of February 2021. Today’s prompt is “Creativity,” and here is my prayer/poem.

Your Creativity Inspires Me

Father God,

I am continually inspired

by the ways you show love

to me

which I see only if

my eyes are open

I hear only if

my ears are attuned

I know only if

my heart is seeking.

A cheery yellow daffodil

bracing January winds

on a roadside slope

perhaps intended only

for my notice

to ease my winter blues

to help me wait for spring

and to remind me

I am loved beyond measure.

Sunbeams shooting through

the stand of trees on my morning walk

in just the right slant of light

with just the right amount of fog

at just the right point on the gravel road

so I can see your glory shining.

You ask me to hold this picture

in my mind as a promise

of restoration:

all things broken

transformed

into all things new.

A rare pair

of visiting Baltimore orioles

sleek in their vibrant color

scissoring open my calamondin oranges

for juicy sips on a summer afternoon

when my heart was breaking

and I needed something

someone

to comfort me.

A beautiful distraction

and whispered reminder:

if you care so much for the birds

you care much more for me.

A thousand hearts

falling from the branches

in brilliant gold, crimson and russet

piling up in fragrant mounds

and in the magenta October sunset

you spread your banner

of love over me, reminding

me that you have held me

in your embrace

each October since my birth

and will hold me each hour

day, week, month, year

until I see you face to face.
