A Predicament of Faith

A Predicament of Faith is a prayer for times of doubt and struggle. I’m praying this today, and you can pray this prayer with me.

Today’s post is the tenth one in the #write28days challenge, in which I’m participating during the month of February 2021. Today’s prompt is “Predicament,” and here is my prayer/poem.

A Predicament of Faith

Father God,

Today I’m up against

a stone wall

where my faith collides

with hard truth.

This wall blocks

my vision forward

and offers no soft comfort

no calming platitudes.

Its reality

is undeniable.

I can reach out and touch

its unforgiving surface.

Its coldness

sends a shiver

into my soul.

And yet.

I notice green moss

tucked in the tightest cracks

and my faith takes hold

again, rooted

in hope.

With your strength

I can scale this wall.

With your miracle

I can move this mountain.

With only one faith seed

I can rise above.

This predicament of faith

will either break me

or lift me to new heights.

What grace

you afford me the choice.
