Observant to Details

When we are observant to details, we can be more inspired to praise God. I hope this prayer/poem inspires you today.

This piece is based on the Five Minute Friday prompt for the week: Observant. It’s unedited, and I wrote it in five minutes flat.

Today’s post is also the nineteenth one in the #write28days challenge, in which I’m participating during the month of February 2021.

Make me observant to details, Lord

as you have done

since I was a child.

I remember

observing the ants

building their crumb homes

and imagining

clothing, furniture

pots and pans

inside.

The slow pace

of observation

brings you near

gives me delight

inspires my praise.

Now as I gather

pressed wildflowers

into a glass frame

I reflect

on the beauty

of your creation

so fleeting

and yet

so lovely.

The diversity

of curves and colors

shapes and sizes

lines and swirls

gives me joy

and I marvel

at your design.

Your creation inspires

me to observe

deep beyond the surface

and teaches me

your ways

so much higher

than mine

yet gracefully available

if I only stop

to observe.

On Five Minute Fridays, I also like to showcase my Art Sunday pieces on this weekly post. I found these glass frames at Target, perfect housings for the Missouri wildflowers I preserved last summer. I used this silica gel to preserve them, and I’m very pleased with the color retention as opposed to pressing them in a flower press. I plan on incorporating more flowers into Etsy shop products soon!
