Saturday Sips October 2021

Saturday Sips is a short recollection of what I’ve learned this month. I’m following a format known as Share Four Somethings, and I hope it inspires your own reflections on what you’ve learned this October.

1. Something Loved

It’s been a very busy month with a book launch and also writing book number 3. I have taken breaks every hour, and I love nothing more than seeing these beautiful views in my very own Missouri woods. No filter photos taken with my IPhone 11.

2. Something Read or Said

The best book I read this month is Sweet Like Jasmine by Bonnie Gray. I made my review into a podcast episode, where I share my favorite quotes from it HERE.

One of the most helpful podcasts I’ve listened to this month is Esther Littlefield’s episode on taking charge of your calendar. I’ve listened to it several times. Check it out HERE.

Along the same lines, I enjoyed this article about the three-hour workday by Carey Nieuwhof HERE.

The most intriguing article I read is Tim Keller’s commentary on the decline of the American church. It’s both heartbreaking and hopeful. Read it HERE.

Finally, the best just-for-fun read is this article on quick and easy recipes for fall. Check it out HERE.

3. Something Treasured

I was sick earlier in the month and lost my voice for a few days. I rehabbed it with lots of hot tea, which was a treasure for my scratchy throat. At Starbucks, I discovered a new favorite: Peach Tranquility from Teavana. It’s so tasty, I don’t even need to add sugar or honey. You can find it and  more of my favorite herbal teas in my Fall Favorites list HERE.

4. Something Ahead

On International Podcast Day, I purchased an audio book creation tool from Hindenburg. I’m excited to start using it to create audio versions of my self-published books. This is the first one on my to-create list in November:
