Today’s post is the tenth one in the #write28days challenge, in which I’m participating during the month of February 2022. Today’s prompt is “Imperturbable,” and here is my prayer/poem.
Imperturbable Calm
O Lord
on this day
with so many twists
and turns
of flaming hot
drama
I need your
imperturbable
calm
more than ever.
As my heart races
glands swell
bowels empty
hands shake
head aches
with an adrenaline
and cortisol cocktail
roiling through my bloodstream
please grant me
your peace
that passes all understanding.
May your shalom
seep into all spaces
of my heart
mind
soul
body
spirit
as I fix my thoughts on you
instead of the raging mess
the enemy created for me.
May the calm you give
be as still
as the waters
where you lead me
to lie down
in your hushing embrace.
May I trust
in you
Prince of Peace
as I watch you carry back
the head of my enemy
from the victory
you have already
secured in my name.
I listened to the song Defender while I wrote this prayer-poem. It is anchoring me to God’s truth in this hard time for me!
