How Worthy You Are

How Worthy You Are is a prayer of praise to the triune God. I hope this prayer-poem inspires you today.

Today’s post is the seventh one in the #write28days challenge, in which I’m participating during the month of February 2022. Today’s prompt is “Worthy,” and here is my prayer/poem.

O Father

how worthy you are

to receive my praise

as my Creator.

You hold the whole universe

in your hands

cause the sun

to rise and set

keep the seasons

running on course

yet you also

hold me close

in your tender embrace.

You are worthy

of my exclusive

nestling

in your lap.

O Jesus

how worthy you are

to have me follow

in your footsteps

learning your ways

and making them my own.

Through you all things

have been created

and all things

hold together

as the Prince of Peace

yet you suffered

so much

on my behalf

even though

you never sinned.

You are worthy

of all my days

surrendered over

to your reign.

O Spirit

how worthy you are

to have me fall on my knees

in wonder of your workings.

You hovered over the surface

of the waters

before the world came to be

inspired all the writers

of your holy word

stirred like flames

in each believer’s heart

yet you offer

my secret heart cries

up before the heavenly throne

in groans that cannot be expressed.

You are worthy

of my eternal awe

at how you work

all things together

for my good.

O Lord God Almighty

remind me to enter

your throne room daily

to praise you

honor you

revere you

and bless your name

as altogether

worthy

of my love

forever and ever.
