Help Me Perceive and Discern

Help Me Perceive and Discern is a prayer for God’s guidance. I hope this prayer-poem inspires you today.

Today’s post is the final one in the #write28days challenge, in which I’m participating during the month of February 2021.Today’s prompt is “Perceive,” and here is my prayer/poem.

Help Me Perceive and Discern

Father God,

help me perceive

the world through

spirit eyes:

each day a new start

every person of immense value

each problem in need of your solution.

I want to perceive

my areas of influence

not limited

by my own filters

but with your wisdom

superimposed

bringing everything

into perfect focus.

Give me your patience

guidance

and courage

to view my life

through your lenses

and then discernment

to interpret

what I see.

Help me discern

what is true

honorable

right

pure

lovely

admirable

excellent

and worthy of praise

even as dark clouds

threaten

to block my view.

With you I can perceive and discern

this world from the standpoint

of peacemaker

rather than passive observer.

Equip me with these gifts

to step out into the world

and influence it

for your glory.
