Do you have an enthusiasm to learn everything you can about God? I’m praying this today, and you can pray for this with me.
Today’s post is the second one in the #write28days challenge, in which I’m participating during the month of February 2021. The prompt for today is “Enthusiasm,” and here is my prayer/poem.
An Enthusiasm to Learn
Father God,
Give me an enthusiasm to learn
all the wonders you want to reveal
to me, through your Word
and our fellowship.
Your Word tells me
that friendship with the Lord
is reserved for those who fear you,
and with them you share the secrets
of your covenant.
Oh, how I long for this kind of closeness
with you, my Creator and Lord,
a friendship so deep
I never feel alone.
Perhaps enthusiasm is the key
to that door of fellowship.
An irrepressible joy
stirring inside
while I bow in reverence to you.
Give me an enthusiasm to learn
about the stories of old
your faithfulness to imperfect
yet beloved people,
those through whom you preserved
a thread of faith down to me.
Give me an enthusiasm to learn
about your unchanging character
each time I read your Word
and discover new sides to you
I had never appreciated before.
Give me an enthusiasm to learn
about your promises
tucked inside each page
guideposts to steer my faith
on every rocky path ahead.
May my enthusiasm to learn
give you glory
as it cultivates a new and beautiful
relationship with you.
