Lessons from the August Garden

I love gardening, but typically August can be a challenging month for me as a gardener. My veggie garden, flower beds and containers are all desperate for water in hot, humid and dry August days, often for weeks in a row with no relief.

As soon as I finish my hot tea and One Year Bible reading, I start each day with my watering can. It takes several trips to water all my containers on my porches, along with the ones in my flowerbeds. Then I turn on the drip hoses in the veggie garden. They deliver water in a slow, steady stream…

Check out the spiritual lessons I learn from gardening in August on my guest post for Kingdom Edge Magazine HERE.

How Christian Meditation Can Help You Forgive

Forgiveness is hard, but God commands us to do it.

How many times have you wanted to hold on to a wrong because you don’t think the offender deserves your forgiveness?

It’s so easy to fall into that trap, which leads to bitterness.

But by meditating on scriptures that speak of forgiveness, you can learn how to forgive.

Check out these helpful verses on my guest post for Woman 2 Woman Ministries HERE.

God Is Your Shelter

What serves as a shelter for you? Is it your home, your bank account, your family, or your job?

Those are all good gifts that God gives you, but God alone wants to serve as your constant shelter. Your situations may change in a moment, and what kept you feeling safe and secure may be lost. God will always be your shelter, no matter what kind of storm you face.

When You Struggle With Self-Worth

All the birds I see or hear inspire me to praise God for the beauty of his creation.

Yet as wonderful as birds are, they pale in comparison to the importance we people have in God’s kingdom.

Jesus affirmed our value with this verse:

“Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? Yet not one of them will fall to the ground outside your Father’s care…”
