A Prayer of Trust

Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take.

Proverbs 3:5-6 NLT

Father, we choose to place our trust in you today instead of our own limited understanding.

We seek your will in how we vote and what choices we make as Americans.

Show us which path to take – show us which path honors you most.

May we trust in your with all our hearts, not leaving anything to ourselves.

We praise you as the Most High God, our Redeemer and Refuge.

But when I am afraid, I will put my trust in you.

Psalm 56:3 NLT

Lord, we confess we have been afraid of the future of America.

The days look darker and darker, and the path ahead seems uncertain.

Yet you see everything in perfect clarity, and you are in total control.

When we are afraid, remind us that you are the Commander in charge.

We praise you as the Blessed Controller of all things.

They do not fear bad news; they confidently trust the Lord to care for them.

Psalm 112:7 NLT

Father, the dire headlines often turn me away from you, and turn me toward fear.

Yet I want to cling to you in this season rather than getting further and further away.

May I seek the truth in your Word to become confident in your care for me.

May all Christians in America trust you to guide, comfort and strengthen them.

We praise you as the Lord God Almighty, the Sovereign Ruler over all.

You love him even though you have never seen him. Though you do not see him now, you trust him; and you rejoice with a glorious, inexpressible joy.

1 Peter 1:8 NLT

Lord, may the eyes of our hearts be fixed on things above rather than this passing season.

May we put our trust in you though we have never seen you with our own eyes.

What a privilege it is to live on this side of the cross, where victory has been won over sin and death!

May our spiritual blessings give us joy each day forward.

We praise you as the Lord of Heaven’s Armies, the One who is Mighty to Save.

On his robe at his thigh was written this title: King of all kings and Lord of all lords.

Revelation 19:16 NLT

Jesus, we know you are seated at the right hand of the Father, praying for us day and night.

One day we will see you in your full glory, when you set up your kingdom on earth as it is in heaven.

May we trust that you are coming back, that you will keep every promise you ever made.

Help us trust you more than any earthly ruler, because you alone are to be glorified.

We praise you as the King of all kings and Lord of all lords.

In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
