Prayer for Peaceful Days

Prince of Peace,

in this final week before Christmas

help us set our daily rhythms

according to your heartbeat.

Help us begin our days with hope

as the sun rises in these dark mornings.

Remind us to seek your face first

before caffeine

In the full-steam forward

of mid-morning

help us sort through our lists

asking you for help

to complete all our tasks.

In the mid-afternoon lull

call us to your side

through a song, a verse, a devotion

we take in on our lunch breaks.

Let your word spark joy

in these busy December days.

As evening approaches

with abounding activity

grant us your strength

to power through.

At ballgames

and worship services

appoint us as your ambassadors

of Christmas peace.

When we lay down to rest

weary and heavy-laden

fold us in your embrace

and help us remember

all your daily goodness

with thanksgiving.

Help us find rest

in your quiet presence.

  2. What a needful Bible study this time of year! I can only imagine how much chaos you have had to conquer through the years being a child of divorce and your husband being one, also. Bless your heart. So many people to please, so many demands to satisfy. I love how you turn to the Prince of Peace to bring the inner calm you need during not only this busy season but all seasons of life. God bless you and your family with a wonderfully peaceful Christmas!

    1. Very sweet of you, Cheryl. Yes, we have faced many trials in past Christmases. I believe God prompted me to write a book on Christmas peace for many others who have sought it out, like I did. Thank you for your kind, thoughtful words, and Merry Christmas to you!
