Prayer for Peaceful Days

Prayer for Peaceful Days

Prince of Peace,

in this final week before Christmas

help us set our daily rhythms

according to your heartbeat.

Help us begin our days with hope

as the sun rises in these dark mornings.

Remind us to seek your face first

before caffeine

technology

rushing.

In the full-steam forward

of mid-morning

help us sort through our lists

asking you for help

to complete all our tasks.

In the mid-afternoon lull

call us to your side

through a song, a verse, a devotion

we take in on our lunch breaks.

Let your word spark joy

in these busy December days.

As evening approaches

with abounding activity

grant us your strength

to power through.

At ballgames

concerts

parties

and worship services

appoint us as your ambassadors

of Christmas peace.

When we lay down to rest

weary and heavy-laden

fold us in your embrace

and help us remember

all your daily goodness

with thanksgiving.

Help us find rest

in your quiet presence.

Christmas Peace for Busy Moms

Looking for more Christmas hope? Check out my book, Christmas Peace for Busy Moms, and my recent blog series, Trading Anxiety for Peace.

For the next three weeks of the Advent season, I’ll be sharing Advent prayers here on the blog. They will be short, easy reads to lift you up in your busy days. I’ll also have batches of book reviews for you on Tuesdays, in case you need some last-minute Christmas gift ideas.

Also, I’m SO excited that I will be featured on the (in)courage blog on December 23 with a special Christmas-themed post. I hope you’ll take a minute or two to read it on that day, and let me know what you think!
