When you need guidance for your life path, where do you turn first? It can be hard to know where to look for direction. Yet the Bible helps us think about the path the Lord wants us to take.
I’ve needed guidance when making important choices in many stops along my life path. Whether it was which college to attend, when to quit a job, where to serve in my church, or when to set boundaries, I wanted to make a choice that pleased God. I turned to his word to find answers.

What’s your most common type of prayer? I use both conversational and formal prayers every day to keep me on track in my faith walk.
My most common type of prayer is random, sprinkled throughout the day. A sentence or two, here and there. It’s not very formal. My prayers are mostly like a conversation with a close friend.
But sometimes, I need the structure of a formal prayer. Do you feel that way too?
As a Christian, do you depend more on luck or faith? It’s St. Patrick’s Day, and you’ll likely see and hear phrases about luck in them. Do you believe in luck, even just a little bit?
I can’t say that I’ve felt much of a pull toward luck in my life. But I do like finding a $20 bill in my coat pocket or discovering that I get an unexpected refund. In my mind, the first thought is usually “I’m lucky today” rather than “Thank you, God.” That may have happened to you as well.
When you need comfort, what do you reach for first? Even as a Christian, it took me years to reach out for God’s comfort before anything else.
Without thinking, I used to immediately reach for creature comforts when I felt sad, lonely or rejected. These were my favorite go-to items…are any of them on your list as well?
