Today I’m pleased to introduce you to Chip Mattis, a Christian author. His children’s book Under the Dancing Tree was published this spring. I became acquainted with Chip through Twitter, and I’m glad he reached out to me with this wonderful book. Here’s his story about writing and publishing.
Are you longing for a place where you can feel at home in your soul? If so, you may be a placemaker. Author Christie Purifoy writes beautifully about what placemakers do in Placemaker.
Are you facing a tough transition where your faith is being tested? I have had many tough transitions in my life, yet they have helped me trust God more.
Challenging Transitions
The transitions I’ve faced have been very challenging. These are some of the toughest ones I’ve gone through, and maybe you have faced similar ones:
- My parents’ divorce when I was 4 years old
- Moving from my grandparents’ home when I was 8 years old
- Transitioning from private school to public school at age 13
- Moving six hours away from home in college
- Broken friendships
- Challenges in extended family relationships
- A brief marriage separation
- Working outside the home/work-at-home mom/stay-at-home mom
- Transitioning from a mom of littles to a mom of tweens and teens
Though these transitions were difficult, they all held great potential for growing my faith. By studying the Bible, praying, and meditating on God’s Word, I learned how to look at life’s transitions with a more hopeful view.
Your Life Transitions
I don’t know which transition you’re facing now, but I know that you are looking for hope and greater faith if you are still reading. I want to offer you encouragement in a convenient form that fits your busy life.

If you had to rate your level of help for your husband, how high would it be? You may be surprised to learn that your husband wants and needs your help, and that God created you to help him.
This is not a popular topic today, but it’s an important one. As a wife for 18 years, I’ve struggled to have a God-pleasing attitude toward helping my husband. But as I have meditated on Scripture and prayed for God’s instruction, I have learned to help my husband with the right spirit.
I’m sharing encouragement with you at Woman 2 Woman Ministries today. Here’s a peek at my post, and I hope you’ll head over to read the rest.
Are you looking to grow in perseverance to help you to press on through life’s trials? It’s such an important biblical virtue to have in today’s world. My faith has gotten stronger when I’ve had to persevere through difficult trials like marriage problems, work issues, loneliness, and relationship strains.
Today I’m hosting my friend Landen Melton, creator of Devotable, who will help us learn about perseverance from five important Bible verses. I’m blessed to write regularly for Devotable, and our new devotional book is on the topic of perseverance. You’ll find my devotion on perseverance in the book along with dozens of other Christian writers.
Here is Landen’s guest post, and I’ll share more information about the perseverance book below.
