Have you ever had a wow moment with God? I had a big one during the solar eclipse, and I can’t wait to share it with you!
When I went to She Speaks 2017, Chrystal Evans Hurst was the keynote speaker for the Friday night session. Proverbs 31 Ministries was gracious enough to live stream the event through the First 5 app, and I enjoyed her message from the quiet comfort of my hotel room (this introvert needed a break from the big party). She is a powerful storyteller, and her strong voice carries through in her new book, She’s Still There.
Chrystal understands how life gets in the way of the girl still inside each woman. She has faced the trials of teenage pregnancy, financial difficulty, and the normal struggles of “diapers, dishes, and laundry” which every mother knows. She lost sight of her original freedom, passions, and faith, and this book is a story of how she found her way back with God’s help.
Writing for five unedited minutes on the topic “Speak” for Five Minute Friday.
If you had to study one subject for the rest of your life, would you choose to study either giant things or tiny things?
I am wowed by huge things like next week’s solar eclipse. But if I’m honest, I love to study small things even better. I love detail and I’m always drawn to the little bitty side of creation.
I think God would choose to study the small things. He is infinite and transcendent over all creation, yet his heart lies with us, so small by comparison.
I’m writing about The Power of Prayer this month, and these two books fit right into that theme.
