Waiting In Prayer

I’m so excited to write over at Leslie Newman’s blog today! Here’s a teaser of the post, and please make sure to click on this link and read the rest!

In my heart, there is a waiting room for prayers. For some prayers, I’ve only had to wait a few hours to learn the answers. I didn’t have to wait long, but the pressure was still there. For other prayers, I had to wait many years for the answers. I’m still waiting on some prayers to be answered with anything other than “wait.”

I often meditate upon the truths in John Waller’s song “While I’m Waiting.” I play this song while I’m in that waiting room and pray through the truths, verse by verse.

Join me on Wednesdays for my summer blog series!

By studying Jesus’ examples, you will be affirmed and lifted up, no matter where you are in your faith walk today. Join me on Wednesdays as we look at nine women Jesus valued in a culture that cast women aside. His examples speak volumes into our current culture, when confusion over women’s roles is constantly in the headlines. Gain greater peace as you learn how much Jesus values you as a woman.

Read the first two posts in the series:

A Portrait of Mary, Jesus’ Mother

A Portrait of a Desperate Woman

  1. Sarah, I love the idea that there is a waiting room for prayers! I’m clicking over to read the rest of it!
I’m visiting you from #TeaAndWord Linkup!

  2. What a beautiful post. Waiting can be extremely difficult! It’s like I’d rather have a drive-thru for prayer. 😉 But, you are so right – God’s timing is perfect. That “waiting room” is a place to grow spiritually for sure. It’s a learning place to develop peace and trust and what I like to call an “even-if faith” based on Daniel 3:16-18. 🙂 Thanks so much for linking up with us at Literacy Musing Mondays. Have a blessed week.

  3. Jumping over to Leslie’s right now, Sarah! I love that the two of you are teaming up! What a powerful duo of truth filled encouragers!
    Blessings and smiles,
    Lori
