grassDay 26, Week 4:  Humility (Grass Seed)

Today’s scripture passage:

To keep me from becoming conceited…there was given me a thorn in my flesh…Three times I pleaded with the Lord to take it away from me.  But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” 2 Corinthians 12:7-9  NIV

Have you ever had a splinter?  A tiny sliver of wood, not even the size of an eyelash, can consume all your attention until it is removed.  We don’t know what kind of thorn Paul had to deal with, whether it was physical, emotional, or something else.  But we know Paul’s thorn caused him great suffering.  God used this small thing, this thorn, to bring himself glory.  Maybe people saw Paul and said, “Look at how much God works through Paul, despite his weakness.”  God wants to use all of us in our weaknesses, and he sometimes uses the weaknesses themselves to bring himself glory.

Today’s reflection:

In what ways can your weaknesses glorify God?
