Day 16, Week 3: God’s Will (Clay Pot)
Today’s scripture passage:
But who are you, O man, to talk back to God? “Shall what is formed say to him who formed it, ‘Why did you make me like this?’” Does not the potter have the right to make out of the same lump of clay some pottery for noble purposes and some for common use? Romans 9:20-21 NIV
Have you ever placed labels on yourself? Too short. Too tall. Too young. Too old. Not smart enough. Not skinny enough. Not fast enough. Not pretty enough. It’s so tempting to compare myself with others and measure my shortcomings by their successes. It’s so easy for me to turn away from God’s truth, that he made me with a specific purpose in mind, unique only to my life. I am using this Lenten season to reflect on God’s beautiful, perfect will for creating me just as I am.
Have you ever asked God, “Why did you make me this way?” What purpose might he have in using you just the way you are?
