A Prayer for Christmas Peace

Bring peace into your Christmas season with this prayer.

Prince of Peace,

We know peace is possible

only through you.

In our days full

of planning and cleaning

shopping and wrapping

baking and decorating

we need your peace

which passes all understanding.

Prince of Peace,

we lay before you

our hustle and bustle,

hurts and trials,

anxiety and fear.

Let our hearts find no rest

except when we seek you.

Let none of our searching

lead to satisfaction

outside you.

Lead our hearts to peace.

Help us remember

peace once came through the impossible:

a virgin’s womb holding

the son of God, the Prince of Peace.

Help us live out busy December

knowing deep inside

peace is possible

only through you,

peace is possible

in our impossible,

peace is ready

and waiting.

I just loved this, Sarah! The verse about remembering that peace once came through the impossible is so moving. No situation is too out of control, too far gone or too impossible for God to set straight again. What a beautiful promise during the holiday season and every day!

    • Sarah Geringer

Thank you, Summer! Yes, our God is the ruler over the impossible–I need to remember that in the ensuing drama that awaits this year. Blessings to you, friend!

  • Bev @ Walking Well With God

    Sarah,
Beautiful prayer!! For some reason this year, I’ve been having trouble quieting my soul….perhaps because I am weary and burn’t out. I keep hearing God say, “Rest” and I keep arguing, but look at what all needs doing. His word doesn’t change. It’s been a doozy of a year….I know that God knows best. Sacrificing my stubbornness to listen. Thanks for the reminder of God’s wisdom.
    Blessings,
    Bev xx

    • Sarah Geringer
